The Happiest Place on Earth 2009

This week we headed to California to visit Disneyland and to the beach. Jeff has been working 12 hours shifts and got almost a week off so we decided it was time to head back to the happiest place on earth. We went in March of 2008 but Talmage was still pretty young and this time he was tall enough to ride almost every ride. He was a good sport and at least rode all the rides once. His favorite rides were the Winnie the Pooh and the Ferris Wheel in California Adventure. Cadence was a perfect little angel the enitre trip except for the ride home in which she yelled for two hours straight.

I realize there are a ton of picture. So much that they wouldn't all fit on one slide show.

We also went to Newport Beach for one of the mornings. It was Talmage's and Cadence's first trip to the beach ever. I think Talmage might have liked the beach more than Disneyland. It was a little windy and chilly but that didn't stop the little man from getting drenched and covered in sand, including his mouth. We even found a little crab that Talmage held for about 2 seconds until it pinched him.

Moving Back to Utah

It is official we are headed back to Utah. Jeff is finishing up his ER rotation in June and after that we are on the road. We will be back to Utah June 20th. We are going to miss all of our great friends that we have here in Mesa, but the good things is that it is not too far from Utah to visit. After we move back Jeff is going to finish his last rotation in Ogden doing ENT surgery. Then after that graduation and national boards!!!

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

Last week we spent the afternoon at a little local park dedicated to all that is Trains. For those of you who have met little Talmage you know this is right up is alley. They have a couple little train rides, a carousel, a bunch of cute little themed playgrounds, and, Talmage's favorite, a couple huge toy train exhibits. He could seriously stare at those trains all day and be as content as could be. We decided to get out and try a couple new things before the heat really sets in. Also our time in Arizona is coming close to an end so we need to check out a few more local hot spots. We had a nice little picnic and a great day at the park.

Our Kids the Thumb Suckers

Talmage getting caught in the act

Cadnece following suit

So our kids suck their thumbs the first chance they get. Both kids between 4-5 months old found their thumbs and the rest is history (of orthodonic bills).

Here is a little thumb sucking humor:
A lady was at her wit's end trying to stop a 4 year-old son, Todd, from sucking his thumb. Finally, she told him if he didn't stop, his stomach would get very big and puffy.

The following Sunday in church, there happened to be a very pregnant lady sitting in the same pew. Todd kept staring at her.
When the service was over, he pulled at her arm and whispered, "Your stomach is big and puffy... I know what you`ve been doing!"
